Ryan Easter Photography
My work is about intimacy but it is also about themes such as distance, loss, and longing. Inherent in photography is the knowledge of that what is in front of the lens will one day be gone, after the click of the shutter that moment will only exist as a trace of a memory past. In most close relationships one does not wish to see the end, my way of dealing with this is to photograph and collect. I save everything from receipts and notes to photographs and other memorandum. Utilizing this collection, I make art in several ways including black and white silver gelatin prints, color prints, graphite drawings, Xerox prints from cell phone images, and collage installations.
